As part of National Archaeology Week on July 23rd 2005 the Ashmolean Museum held a variety of Anglo-Saxon activities. |

There were opportunities to find handle and find out about real and replica Anglo-Saxon objects from experts. The public could also find out how to play Anglo-Saxon games. |

Members of the public were encouraged to ask questions about Anglo-Saxon life, and some even tried on Anglo-Saxon costumes. |

There were activities for children, including making Anglo-Saxon jewellery and crowns. |

Members of the public were encouraged to visit the galleries and vote for their favourite Anglo-Saxon objects. Of course the Alfred Jewel was the favourite. |
