Small Long Brooches

Small long brooches from Filkins Oxfordshire (AN1909.497i-ii)

This type of brooch was quite small and was generally worn in pairs. These brooches sometimes looked like cruciform brooches, having a cross shaped head plate, but many had a plain rectangular head plate.

Which do you think the brooches in the picture have?

Some small long brooches had simple or no decoration, whilst others had intricate animal designs. There was a huge variety of styles for this type of brooch.
